This Privacy Policy explains how LegalEase AI (operated by Archana Info Solutions Pvt Ltd, "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use our website, applications, and services.

1. Who we are

LegalEase AI is an AI-native legal operations platform for advocates, law firms, corporate legal teams, CAs, and startups in India. Our data fiduciary is Archana Info Solutions Pvt Ltd, registered in India. You can reach us at privacy@legalease.ai.

2. Data we collect

Account data: name, email, mobile number, organisation name, role, password (hashed).
Workspace data: contracts, matters, clients, invoices, documents, notes, and anything you upload into your workspace.
Usage data: page views, clicks, feature usage, device & browser information, IP address, and logs.
Payment data: handled by Razorpay. We only store non-sensitive metadata (plan, amount, status).

3. How we use your data

To provide, maintain, and improve LegalEase AI services.
To run AI features (drafting, review, research) on the content you submit.
To send you service, billing, and security notifications.
To comply with applicable laws, including the DPDP Act 2023.

4. Where your data lives

All workspace data is stored in Indian data centers. We do not transfer your workspace data outside India without your explicit consent. Aggregated, anonymized usage analytics may be processed on global cloud infrastructure.

5. AI processing

When you use AI features, the content you submit is sent to Anthropic's Claude API over TLS. Anthropic's data usage terms apply. We never use your content to train our own models and we never share it with any third party beyond the AI inference provider, unless required by law.

6. Your rights under the DPDP Act 2023

Right to access, correction, and erasure of your personal data.
Right to withdraw consent at any time.
Right to data portability — one-click export from inside the app.
Right to raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (contact below).

7. Security

AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, 2FA on every account, IP allowlisting, tamper-proof audit logs, role-based permissions, and a clearly defined incident response process. We are implementing ISO 27001 and SOC 2 controls.

8. Retention

We retain your workspace data as long as your account is active. On cancellation, data is kept in read-only mode for 90 days (recoverable by you), then permanently deleted.

9. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and preferences, and anonymized analytics cookies to improve the product. You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time.
