TapKit for Offices

A visitor book that signs itself.

Reception books the visitor onto a pass card before they arrive. The card does the rest: it signs them in, tells the host, signs them out, and stops working when the day ends.

Today

A paper visitor book nobody can read, plastic passes that walk out of the building, and no answer when somebody asks who is still upstairs.

With TapKit

Every visit is a row in the register with an arrival and a departure. Passes come back working or they come back dead, and either way nobody has to chase them.

A real day

A Tuesday at a sixty-person office

Reception books Demo Visitor from Demo Store onto Visitor pass 3, valid until 6pm, host: Finance Head.

The visitor taps the pass at the reception phone. The Echo at the desk says: "Demo Visitor from Demo Store is here to see the Finance Head."

They did not hear it and tap again. Inside the 90-second settling window, the welcome is repeated. They are not signed out.

Staff tap their existing ID cards at the canteen phone on the way to lunch. Nothing is written to the cards; the ledger records each tap.

The visitor taps on the way out: "Demo Visitor has signed out." The register closes the visit.

Pass 3 expires. Tomorrow it is booked for somebody else from the console. Same plastic.

Recognised works on any chip, changed from the console. Written works on any phone, nothing installed. The two modes, explained

Where TapKit stops. TapKit records and announces. It does not open a door by itself; if you want a card to release a lock, the routine calls your lock controller or Home Assistant, and you should put Require unlock above it.
