AR Site Inspector
by Archana Info Solutions
Plan overlay · AI photo compliance · snag list · geotagged PDF

Overlay the plan on the site. See the defects in red, amber & green.

AR Site Inspector gives site inspectors a faster, clearer field pass. Upload a building plan, overlay it on the actual site in AR, then photograph the conditions. The AI runs a photo-based construction compliance assessment — it classifies the deviation, rates the severity, references the likely IS-code and suggests a correction — builds a snag list with AI-drafted non-conformance reports, and generates a clean geotagged PDF snag report for your file.

AI decision-support only — this is not a certified engineering or safety inspection. A qualified engineer must verify every finding.

What this is

A field compliance assistant for site inspectors

AR Site Inspector is a decision-support tool for construction firms. You upload a project's building plan (an image or a PDF exported from the DWG — the standard workflow), overlay it on the actual site in AR to compare plan against build, then photograph site conditions. For each photo the AI runs a compliance assessment: it classifies the deviation, rates the severity (critical, major or minor), references the likely IS-code and suggests a corrective action. Each finding becomes a snag with an optional AI-drafted non-conformance report, and the whole project rolls up into a downloadable geotagged PDF snag report. It is built to speed up your field pass — not to replace it. A qualified engineer must verify every finding before you rely on it.

How it works

From building plan to a signed-off snag report

Upload the building plan

Set up a project and upload its plan image (or a PDF exported from the DWG), then print its QR anchor for the site.

Overlay it on the site in AR

Scan the QR anchor and place the plan over the real site with AR (or use the orbit view) to compare plan against build.

Photograph the conditions

Take geotagged photos of any defect or deviation right where you stand — location is captured with each shot.

AI checks compliance

The AI reads the photo and returns the deviation, a severity rating, the likely IS-code and a corrective action.

Build the snag list

Save each finding as a snag — critical, major or minor — and draft a non-conformance report with one tap.

Download the PDF snag report

Get a clean PDF with the severity counts, an AI summary and every snag with its geotagged photo embedded.

Features & benefits

Everything for a faster, clearer field pass

AR plan overlay

Overlay a building plan on the real site with WebXR, aligned to a printed QR anchor — with an orbit view that works on any device.

AI photo compliance

Every photo is assessed for deviation, severity, the likely IS-code reference and a suggested corrective action.

Geotagged photos

Each defect photo captures its location so the snag report shows exactly where on site the condition was recorded.

NCR drafts

Generate an AI-drafted non-conformance report for any snag, ready for a qualified engineer to review and finalise.

Geotagged PDF snag report

Produce a clean, colour-coded PDF with severity counts, an AI summary and every snag with its geotagged photo embedded.

Snag list & tracking

Track every snag by severity and status — open, in-progress or closed — across all your projects.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is this a certified inspection?

No. AR Site Inspector is AI decision-support. It reads a defect photo and highlights the likely deviation, severity and IS-code reference to speed up your field pass. It is not a certified engineering or safety inspection and does not replace a qualified engineer's assessment — always have a qualified engineer verify every finding before you rely on it.

What do the red, amber and green flags mean?

Red marks a snag the AI reads as critical, amber marks a major issue to review, and green marks a minor observation. They are a triage aid to focus your attention on site — every finding should be confirmed by a qualified engineer.

How does the AR plan overlay work?

You upload a building plan and print a QR anchor to place at a fixed point on site. In the AR view, the plan is shown as a plane you can place over the real site with WebXR and align to the anchor. It is a visual alignment aid, not survey-grade georeferencing — when a camera or WebXR isn't available, an orbit view of the plan works on any device.

Do I need the DWG file?

No. AR Site Inspector uses the plan as an exported image or PDF — the standard field workflow — not as a parsed DWG. Export a clear plan image from your CAD tool and upload it; the app never needs to open the DWG in the browser.

What happens to my photos and projects?

Your projects, snags, photos and reports stay with your firm account and are scoped to your firm. Only the photo needed for a compliance check is sent to the AI provider to produce the assessment.

Do I need special hardware or an app?

No. AR Site Inspector runs in a modern mobile browser and installs as a PWA — no headset, no app store. The compliance checks, snag list and PDF report work on ordinary phones; the AR overlay is an optional extra where the browser and camera support WebXR.
