Overview
A printed business card usually ends its life in a drawer. AR BizCard Studio gives it a second one. You register your card once — upload a photo of its printed face, add a short intro video and your contact details — and the studio compiles the card face into an augmented-reality image target. From then on, anyone who opens your scan link and points their phone camera at the physical card sees your intro video playing on the card itself, with a glass contact panel that saves your details to their phone in one tap.
The studio has two sides. The card owner side (login required) is where you build cards, watch scan and save analytics, download the branded PDF report and work the leads people leave on your card. The public side needs no app and no account: the AR scan page, the digital profile fallback and the Smart Scan tool all run in the browser.
Two ways to try it right now: open the live demo card at ABC_Card.aspx?code=DEMO001 for the digital profile, or open ABC_SmartScan.aspx and point the camera at any paper business card on your desk.
How the AR scan works
The AR experience is built on MindAR image tracking running on top of A-Frame, entirely in the mobile browser — no app install. Image tracking works by learning the distinctive visual feature points of a picture (your card’s printed face) and then finding that same pattern in the live camera feed many times per second.
1. The card face becomes a target
When you upload a photo of your printed card in the wizard, the browser compiles it into a .mind target file — a compact map of the card’s feature points. Cards with logos, text blocks and contrast compile into strong targets; a plain single-colour card has little to track, and the wizard’s quality stars will tell you so.
2. The camera finds the card
The scan page loads your .mind file and watches the camera feed. The moment the printed card comes into view, the tracker locks on and keeps following it as the hand moves — the browser asks for camera permission first, and nothing is recorded.
3. Your video plays on the paper
Your intro video is drawn as a textured plane pinned to the card’s position and size, so it looks like the card itself has come alive. A glass contact panel slides up beside it with call, WhatsApp, email and website chips.
4. One tap and you’re saved
The Save button builds a standard vCard (.vcf) on the device and hands it to the phone’s contacts app. If the camera is unavailable or the device can’t run AR, the page falls back to the digital profile — same details, same actions, no camera needed.
Smart Scan AI
Smart Scan is the other half of the product: it reads any paper business card, including ones that were never registered with the studio. You photograph the card in the browser; the image is downscaled on-device and sent to a vision AI model that returns the structured fields — person name, designation, company, phones, emails, website, address and social links — together with a confidence score.
- 1Capture. Point the rear camera at the card and tap capture. The photo is resized in the browser before upload, so it is fast even on mobile data.
- 2Extract. The vision model reads the print and returns structured JSON. Unreadable cards come back empty with confidence 0 rather than guessed.
- 3Review & edit. Every extracted field is shown in an editable input. This is where you correct a misread digit or a shortened name.
- 4Save. Download the contact as a vCard, straight into your phone book.
Anonymous visitors get 5 Smart Scans per session; signed-in members scan without limit. Cost controls (response caching and per-user caps) run behind the scenes so the free tier stays sustainable.
Template library
Every AR piece is built from a template — a ready-made theme that sets the info panel’s colours, fonts and layout to suit the occasion, so the video always plays inside a design that fits. When you register a piece you first pick a type (business card, wedding invite, photo, greeting, memorial and more), then a matching template from the industry catalogue below. The catalogue currently spans 28 industries and 41 templates; new themes are added over time and existing pieces can be re-themed without re-registering.
A template only controls the look of the surrounding panel — your uploaded video, contact details and actions stay the same across any theme you choose. The visual previews on the marketing page mirror each template’s real palette; the live AR video plays when the printed piece is scanned.

Card wizard — registering your card
Building a live AR card takes a few minutes in My Cards. The wizard walks you through four steps per card:
Until the card face is compiled, your card still works: visitors land on the digital profile page with all the same contact actions. AR simply switches on once the target exists.
Leads & analytics
Every card carries a small “Work with me” lead form. When someone scans your card and leaves their details, the lead lands in your pipeline with a source tag (AR scan, profile page or Smart Scan). Move leads through New → Contacted → Converted / Dropped and keep notes per lead.
The analytics view shows the full funnel — scans, target-found events, contact saves and leads — alongside a daily scan chart and a device split, over 7, 30 or 90 days. PRO and AGENCY workspaces can also download the whole picture as a branded PDF analytics report from the Subscription page.

FAQ
Does the person scanning my card need an app or an account?
No. The AR scan page, the digital profile and Smart Scan all run in the mobile browser. They will be asked for camera permission for AR and Smart Scan — that is all.
My card doesn’t track well. What can I do?
Image tracking needs visual detail. Recompile with a sharper, evenly lit photo of the card; if the design itself is very plain, add a logo, pattern or text block to the printed face. The wizard’s quality stars predict tracking strength before you print.
Smart Scan got a digit wrong in the phone number.
That is exactly why every field is editable before saving — the results are AI-extracted and should be verified. Retaking the photo flatter and closer usually raises the confidence score.
What happens if my PRO plan lapses?
Your cards and data stay intact and your first card keeps working on the FREE plan. Extra cards pause until you renew — nothing is deleted.
Can I use it for my whole team or my clients?
Yes. PRO covers unlimited cards in one workspace. AGENCY adds white-label branding so agencies and print shops can run AR cards for their own client roster under their own name.
Does AR work on iPhone and Android?
Browser-based image tracking works on modern Android Chrome and iOS Safari. Camera access requires HTTPS (the studio runs on it) and a user tap to start. Devices that cannot run AR are automatically shown the digital profile fallback.
Privacy & data
The camera feed is not recorded. AR tracking happens live on the device; only the single photo you deliberately capture in Smart Scan is sent for AI extraction.
Scan analytics are aggregate. Card owners see counts, dates and device types — scans are not tied to the identity of the person scanning.
Lead details go only to the card owner. What someone types into a card’s lead form is delivered to that card’s workspace and nowhere else.
Account control. Workspace members can manage their profile and request account deletion; see the Privacy and Terms links in the site footer.
